Why Join the Rochester Bibliophile Society?

You will be a member of an informal organization that encourages the appreciation, collection, and study of books and other printed materials.

You can attend monthly meetings from September to June, usually at the Brighton Town Hall on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. and hear lively and interesting talks on a wide variety of subjects related to books and reading by collectors, librarians, authors, booksellers, museum curators, and other literary enthusiasts.

You will have the opportunity to visit rare or special book collections in museums, colleges, and universities.

You can "Bring and Brag" some cherished book from your collection and hear from other members about their special "finds."

You will be invited to attend the Annual Dinner where the "Book Person of the Year" award is given to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the world of books. The 2002 "Book Person of the Year" is Rochestarian Linda Sue Park who recently won the prestigious Newbery Medal for her children's book A Single Shard.

You will receive the Rochester Bibliophile Society monthly Newsletter and quarterly issues of the Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies Newsletter. As a member of the Bibliophile Society you are an automatic member of FABS and can attend their very exciting programs and book tours.
